The inaugural Garden Day held on September 30th was a resounding success, drawing eco-conscious enthusiasts. I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to John Esposito and Home Depot for their generous donation of the RYOBI chainsaw, the two-wheel wheelbarrow, and all essential gardening equipment for the event. Their contributions enabled us to tackle the garden’s overgrown trees and garbage effectively. Many volunteers even took home some of the old wood for their firepits. The removal of these trees has paved the way for sunlight, which will be crucial for nurturing future crops of vegetables and fruits.

We also managed to clear two substantial heaps of trash and debris which had been there for many years.

If you missed our first Garden Day, fret not! Guiding Spirit Organic Garden welcomes volunteers on the third Saturday of every month starting this month from 9AM-Noon. Check out our event page.

There are still loads to do before an official opening. One pressing need is a chipper shredder. At present, the garden only has a narrow footpath, making it difficult to transport items in and out. We would like to be able to put the old trees we cut down back into the garden as mulch.

A big thank you to all who helped make the Garden Day successful!
